Terms of service

1. Who these terms are with

LoudPDF is a product of Axiontex Technologies Ltd, company no. 17212330, registered in England & Wales. That company is the provider of the service and your contracting party.

By creating an account or using LoudPDF you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

2. What the service does

LoudPDF reads the text layer of a PDF aloud using AI narration voices. The PDF is parsed in your browser; the extracted text is sent to our narration provider to synthesise audio, which plays back in your browser and, on the Pro plan, can be exported as an MP3.

LoudPDF only works with PDFs that contain a text layer. Scanned or image-only PDFs are not supported because there is no optical character recognition. Very large files may fail in the browser, particularly on mobile devices.

3. Your account

You must give an accurate email address, keep your credentials secure, and are responsible for activity under your account. One account is for one person; accounts must not be shared. You must be at least 13 years old, and if you are under 18 you must have permission from a parent or guardian.

4. Plans and allowances

Free plan: up to 3 documents per day, up to 5 pages per document, up to 10 minutes of narration per day, all six narrator voices, browser playback only.

Pro plan: unlimited document uploads with no page limit, up to 10 hours (600 minutes) of generated narration per billing period, all six narrator voices, and MP3 export.

Only newly generated audio counts towards your allowance. Replaying or re-downloading narration you have already generated is free. When you reach the 10-hour allowance, narration pauses until your billing period renews or you buy top-up minutes; audio you have already generated stays playable and downloadable.

Short-term rate limits also apply to unusually rapid narration (currently 90 minutes of generated audio per rolling hour). Pro is for a single individual’s own use: automated or scripted narration, sharing an account, reselling generated audio as a narration service, or using LoudPDF to build a bulk audio library may be rate-limited or suspended.

Top-up minutes are a one-time purchase, never expire, and are consumed only after your plan’s monthly allowance is used up.

We may apply reasonable technical limits to protect the service, and may suspend accounts that attempt to circumvent allowances (for example by creating multiple free accounts or automating requests).

5. Billing and cancellation

Subscriptions are billed in advance by Stripe on behalf of Axiontex Technologies Ltd at the price shown at checkout, and renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel any time from your account page; cancellation stops future renewals and your Pro access continues to the end of the period you have paid for.

Switching between monthly and annual is prorated by Stripe: unused time on the old plan is credited against the new one. Prices may change with at least 30 days' notice before the change takes effect on your renewal.

Payments are non-refundable, as set out in our refund policy. Nothing in these terms removes any statutory cancellation or refund right you have under the consumer law that applies to you.

6. Acceptable use

You must not: process documents you have no right to process; use LoudPDF to create audio that is unlawful, defamatory, or infringes someone's rights; attempt to extract, resell, or rebrand our narration service or use it as a general text-to-speech API; probe, scrape, or overload the service; reverse-engineer or bypass plan limits; or impersonate a real person's voice for deception.

You are responsible for having the rights to any document you narrate, and for how you use the resulting audio.

7. Your content and your MP3s

You keep all rights in the documents you use with LoudPDF. We claim no ownership of them and do not retain their text.

The audio LoudPDF generates from your document is yours to use for personal and internal commercial purposes — listening, study, review, and use inside your organisation — provided you hold the necessary rights in the source document. You may not sell, publish, or distribute the generated audio as a standalone product such as a commercial audiobook, podcast episode, or voice dataset, and you may not use it to train speech models.

8. Our intellectual property

LoudPDF, its name, interface, and software are owned by us and licensed to you for use of the service only. You may not copy, modify, or create derivative works from the application.

9. Availability

We aim for a reliable service but do not promise uninterrupted availability. Maintenance, provider outages, browser changes, and network problems can interrupt narration. We may change or discontinue features; if we withdraw a paid feature materially, you may cancel and we will tell you before your next renewal.

10. No warranty on narration accuracy

AI narration can mispronounce words, misread tables, formulas, footnotes, or multi-column layouts, and can skip text that a PDF encodes unusually. LoudPDF is a listening aid, not a substitute for reading a document where accuracy matters — for example legal, medical, financial, or safety-critical material.

11. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, or loss of data, and our total liability in any 12-month period is limited to the amount you paid us in that period. Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected.

12. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, and will tell you why unless doing so would be unlawful. You can close your account at any time by contacting support. Closure does not entitle you to a refund of unused time or minutes.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England & Wales, and the courts of England & Wales have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, you keep the benefit of any mandatory protections of your local law.
